As you have heard, the government passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act which includes stimulus checks to almost all Americans recently. There is a scam going around, that includes a call, text, email or mail claiming to be the IRS or another government actor seeking your routing number and account number. They may claim to have had a glitch in their computer system and need you to tell them your account number and routing number in order to deposit your check. DO NOT give them any of your information. The IRS doesn't contact people for their banking information. If you are contacted by a scammer, please report this to the Kansas Attorney General's Office by filing a complaint.
